An original story using tongue twisters, written by our student Harshvardhan Singh Shekhawat.

Harshvardhan is 13 years old young writer from New Delhi. He is enthusiastic about sports, and music. We are proud to have him as a student of the Little Writers Program, an Online Creative Writing Program using Applied Storytelling & Applied Theatre tools under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. Twisted Tales of Twisterland

Once upon a time, in the lively town of Twisterland, there lived a mischievous little girl named Tessa who had a knack for creating tongue twisters. Her imagination knew no bounds, and she loved challenging her friends and family with her creations. One sunny morning, Tessa set off on an adventure, determined to come up with the most mind-boggling tongue twisters the world had ever seen.

As Tessa walked along a winding path, she spotted a group of chatty parrots perched on a patchwork fence. She greeted them with a smile and said, “Pretty Polly picked a peck of perfectly plump peppers, but how many peppers did Pretty Polly pluck?”

The parrots squawked in amazement but quickly recovered and chirped, “Tessa, we challenge you to twist our tongues! Say ‘Silly Sally sells slippery seashells by the seashore’ ten times fast!”

Tessa accepted their challenge and rattled off the twister effortlessly, leaving the parrots astonished. She continued on her way, determined to create more puzzling phrases.

As she ventured deeper into the forest, Tessa stumbled upon a group of squirrels scampering around. Intrigued by her presence, they chittered, “Tessa, we dare you to say ‘Seven slinky snakes slithered silently across the stone’ without tripping over your words!”

Tessa accepted the dare and confidently recited the tongue twister, leaving the squirrels in awe. They chattered among themselves, impressed by her skills.

Feeling emboldened, Tessa hopped over a babbling brook and encountered a friendly family of bunnies. They wiggled their noses and said, “Oh, Tessa, let’s see if you can master ‘How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?’ in record time!”

Tessa grinned mischievously and took up the challenge. With lightning speed, she repeated the tongue twister flawlessly, earning applause from the bunnies. They hopped in circles, excited by her talent.

As Tessa journeyed further, she encountered a pair of wise old owls perched on a towering tree branch. They swiveled their heads and hooted, “Young Tessa, can you recite ‘She sells sea shells by the seashore’ while skipping on a see-saw?”

Tessa’s eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she accepted the challenge. Balancing on a see-saw, she flawlessly recited the twister, leaving the owls wide-eyed with amazement. They hooted their approval and declared her the “Twister Queen.”

Word of Tessa’s astonishing tongue twisters spread throughout Twisterland, attracting animals and townsfolk from far and wide. Everyone eagerly gathered at the town square, eagerly awaiting her next feat.

Tessa stood before the crowd, taking a deep breath. She had a final challenge to share. With her voice echoing through the square, she declared, “Peter Piper’s purple pickled peppers are perfect for a peculiar picnic!”

The townspeople erupted into cheers and applause. They marveled at Tessa’s incredible talent and showered her with praise. Tessa blushed, grateful for their support.

From that day forward, Tessa became the pride of Twisterland. People came from all corners of the world to witness her mesmerizing tongue twisters. She even earned the admiration of the famous tongue twister artist, Timmy, who declared her his worthy successor.

And so, Tessa’s legacy grew, and the town of Twisterland became known as the Land of Tongue Twisters. Visitors would leave with twisted tongues and smiling faces, forever enchanted by Tessa’s remarkable talent.

In the Land of Tongue Twisters, Tessa’s name lived on, echoing in the laughter and merriment that filled the air. And as the years passed, new generations of children would gather to hear the legendary tales of Tessa, the girl who had twisted the world’s tongues.
