Pizza Maria

In 2007, a boy named, Kevin’s mum passed away in a car accident. His mum passed away when he was only 13 years old, they were originally from Italy, and his mum had taught him many Italian recipes before she passed away.

After 2 years of his mom’s passing his dad remarried a woman named, Martha.

Martha was a shopaholic and usually spent her time in stores or online, mainly on Amazon looking for useless stuff to buy.

His dad had to work 3 jobs to support his wife’s addiction, he was a barber during the day, a hotel receptionist at night and he was a server at a restaurant during the weekend.

One fine morning, when Kevin woke up, he found his dad in the kitchen, making scrambled eggs for himself, as soon as he wished ‘good morning’ to his son, he collapsed on the floor.

Kevin called the ambulance immediately; the good news was that the doctors were able to treat him on time. They said that he collapsed due to exhaustion and would need to rest for 3 months.

When Kevin’s stepmother heard this, she turned red and kept blabbering, ‘How am I supposed to shop now, how am I supposed to shop now…’.

She immediately said, ‘Kevin, since your dad cannot work, you will work from now on.’ Kein’s dad said ‘You are the reason this happened to me, I will not let the same thing happen to my son.’

Kevin intervened, ‘Relax Dad, it’s ok I would have to leave school, but I am happy to do it for you.’

That day, Kevin looked up for jobs when he applied to a pizza place.

During the interview, when the boss saw his dough managing skills, he hired him on the spot. After a few weeks of working, he was on the good list of his boss because of his expertise at work.

One day he asked his boss if he could show a pizza recipe, that his mum had taught him.

Looking at his performance at the restaurant, he agreed, as soon as he tasted it, he was astonished and immediately added the new pizza to the menu, and named it after his mom, the pizza was called “PIZZA MARIA”.

Soon, it became the hottest pizza, at the restaurant, there were lines outside, just to try it.

After a few months, Kevin’s boos offered him to be his partner and divide the business. He agreed and signed the papers.

When he went to the hospital to tell his dad the news, he heard his dad and stepmom arguing, she said: “your son makes the bare minimum, how am I supposed to shop and keep up our standard, you should get out of the hospital and start working again”. To which his dad replied, “You are the one who did this to me, and now you are blaming my son, WOW, I am not getting out of the hospital until I get treated”.

The next day, Kevin arrived in the hospital, with a sports car worth 4 million dollars! He honked and, when his dad came out, his eyes were moist. He hugged Kevin, while his stepmom, was still in shock, and was trying to process the information.

She tried buttering Kevin up by said saying, ‘I knew you could do it, look how far you have come, lets go in your car to our new house and become a happy family’!! To which Kevin said, “No, you are the one who ruined everything, for me and my dad, you made me miss school, and you almost killed my dad with this obsession without even getting treatment”.

After this, Kevin got into his car with his dad, and they both went to Kevin’s mansion.

When Kevin’s dad, got better he filed for divorce from, his ex-wife, who still used to message them to take her back.

Kevin and his Dad, ignored her messages and started enjoying their new life without her.
