Spring’s First Adventure

Once there was a girl named Jane. Jane had never seen spring. Every year in spring her parents used to travel abroad preferably to a colder region. This time she yearned for spring. She wanted to see how spring looked in her city.

On the last day of school before the spring holidays, when she came back home, she came to know that their trip to Canada was cancelled due to Covid 19 restrictions. She thought, “at least I will get to see how the spring season looks in my city.”

That night, as Jane was about to go to sleep, she peeked out of her window. There was no snowfall. The faraway mountains had little snow left on their peaks. Jane slept with good thoughts about the spring season. When Jane woke up the next morning, there was no snow at all. In fact, the whole garden was fully green. Jane was left speechless. Jane quickly tried to get ready, ate breakfast, and rushed out into the garden to enjoy the first breeze of spring. The weather was pleasant. Jane was welcoming the season with open arms. Suddenly her thoughts and moment were interrupted by her mother calling her,“ Jane, come over here. We have a surprise for you”. Curious, Jane went inside.  Her mother told her, “We are going on a picnic!” Jane was excited. They packed their picnic basket and then set off to the picnic spot.

As they reached the picnic spot, Jane was in awe of the beautiful spring season offered her on that day. The lush green meadows and the green moist hills all filled her heart with joy and gratitude. The colorful flowers were blooming, and the pretty delicate butterflies were flying all around. Jane was so excited she could not stay in one place. “ You have spring fever ” her mother commented.

Jane soon found a few of her school friends there. They played together there. After an hour, Jane went to her parents to eat lunch with them.

For lunch, they had some fresh fruits, Pancakes covered in chocolate syrup, sausages along with eggs, and lemonade to go with it. Food was scrumptious and delicious, and was even better to eat outside, in the fresh air.

Soon, the wind became a little stronger, so they quickly headed back to the car.  To their dismay, a tree fell on the road, preventing them from going any farther. Jane took a look at her parent’s disappointed faces, and suggested “Mom, why don’t we try removing this tree together.” Jane’s mother was about to disagree when she saw Jane’s eager face and decided to try it out once. They tried and tried, and were just about to give up, when the tree fell to the other side. “Yaaaaaaaaaaay” Jane’s parents shouted out in joy. Jane would also have shouted, but she was out of breath. The road was cleared by the Forest Officials by evening. They reached home by late night. Jane went off to sleep after dinner with beautiful moments in her heart.

The next day, Jane wrote about her experience in a story form as she was a keen writer. “Spring’s First Adventure” was the title of the story. The story was loved and appreciated by all.
