TV-The Idiot Box- Abhigyan Bhatt-Little Kathakar Program

By admin in Original Stories on September 12, 2022

An Original fun story written by our student Abhigyan Bhatt.

Abhigyan is 10 years old young writer and speaker from Gurugram. We are proud to have him as a student of the Little Kathakar Program, an Online Public Speaking & Creative Writing Program using Applied Storytelling & Applied Theatre tools under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. We congratulate Abhigyan for this exemplary true self-expression.

TV- THE IDIOT BOX

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Raju, he loved watching TV more than anything in the world. He never listened to his kind and loving mom; she kept saying kindly to him while kneeling–

“Son, please stop watching the TV, or else your eyes will be heavily damaged”

But he kept saying, “humph! Heavily damaged!” he mocked his kind mother and let out a beastly laugh, “hahahahahaha!

Suddenly Raju’s father entered the living room and slammed the door of his room behind him and shouted angrily, “What was that?!”.

“Is that how to talk to your kind mother?!” he bellowed.

“But father!” said Raju, “that’s the way they say it on the TV!”.

His father sighed and explained to his son, “do you know that TV is called the ‘idiot box’? It is filled with things to whoever watches it for a long time, his or her brain will suddenly shrink!!”.

But poor Raju didn’t listen to his honest father, he wasn’t able to pass tests for his upcoming grades as he was forgetting all the important notes. He was losing his friends as he didn’t go to play outside but watched TV all day!

And that’s what happened to poor little Raju the friendless and unimportant. He was all alone and lonely. And friends, that is why TV is called the idiot box, it is filled with stuff you shouldn’t watch and it makes your brain shrink.
