Ganesha-The Obstacle Destroyer

Ganesh, the king of obstacles, the elephant god,
Son of mother Parvati and mighty Shiva Lord.
With his brother, Karthikeya, he lived in the heavens,
With other gods and could use all the weapons.

He had the prestigious privilege of being worshipped first,
The jealous gods wanted this entitlement to quench their thirst.
They thought it was highly unfair and decided to race.
The one who completes three rounds of the world for him victory awaits!!

The race began, everyone rushed on their loyal pets.
However, young Ganesh was doing his morning chores with no regrets!
When he finished, he said that his respectful parents were his world,
Hence made three rounds around them and the enormous respect he earned.

The gods agreed that precocious Ganesh deserved this honor.
Touched by this gesture, Shiva delightedly thumped him on his shoulder.
The troublesome problem solved by Ganesh, the clever,
He was then whole-heartedly worshipped first forever.

Autumn

There’s nothing as gay,

As an autumn day,

With the smell in the air,

Of freshly mown hay.

Each tree is a wonder,

Of beauty untold,

Each leaf brushed with color,

A sight to behold.

There’s a nip in the air,

Crisp, Cool and Clear-

To remind us that winter,

Soon will be here.

But for now we have autumn,

The “show-off” of seasons!

My favorite by far,

And these are the reasons.
