By admin in Poetry on September 20, 2022
An Original Recipe Poem by our student Samaira Bhansali.
Samaira Bhansali is 12 years old young writer from Mumbai. Her passion is writing and journalism. She usually writes autobiographies on exciting incidents that she has been through. We are proud to have her as a student of the Little Writers Program, an Online Creative Writing Program using Applied Storytelling & Theatre tools under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. We congratulate Samaira for this exemplary true self-expression.
One Cold, Winter Morning….
One cold, winter morning, my mother said,
‘’Oh, you lazy nitwit, get out of bed!’’
And I knew that if I didn’t lift my head,
Then the very next second, I’d be dead.
She’d push, she’d pull, she’d smack, she’d whack,
She’d never give me my pillow back!
She’d rush, she’d fuss, she’d knack, she’d attack,
She’d even stop to have a snack.
She’d huff, she’d puff, she’d crush, she’d thrush,
She’d pour over the water with a gush.
She’d gulp, she’d clasp, she’d flush, she’d slush,
She’d even stop to use her brush.
One cold, winter morning, my mother said,
‘’Oh, you lazy nitwit, get out of bed!’’
And I knew that if I didn’t lift my head,
Then the very next second, I’d be dead.
