Robotic Dream

On a cold night in a bright cyber city, in the traffic of floating vehicles in the air. The city was full of the sound of the honking of cars, the whooshing of freezing winds, and the noises of thrilling tunes which were coming from the sky-touching building. Nearby the flying highway, a student in college 2nd year was standing on a hoverboard. A boy with short, spiky, blonde hair and with 6-feet and 3-inch height also has a body of an athlete. His name was Alex Stark. In college he was doing a degree in technology and programming A.I. He was a topper student in his school and was always curious for learning new things, he always learns from his mistakes and also, he never gave up till the end.

Alex got mastery programming and building robots, he was trying to build a robot that was perfect in all things, was friendly, can self-replicate in times of danger, and could protect humans in times of disaster or alien invasion. It was a great idea for protecting humanity and this can prevent deaths of humans in wars. This idea made him famous in the field of robotics. As time passed, he did the programming and made the body framework of the robot, but at the time of testing some error always came in the programming or the exterior of the robot.

Alex spoke about it with his parents, his teachers, and the robot’s experts about this problem. He found that a nonfunctional chip was inserted into the brain of the robot for a long time but remembered that he inserted the correct chip only from the first day of his programming. He wondered ” I haven’t changed the chip, but I think somebody wants to ruin my dream “.

Alex again worked on his robot and made it perfect with the help of nanotech and A.I. At the time of display of his robot, his robot destroyed the things around it. Alex was disappointed. He was no longer able to control the robot. Hence, he dismantled it and stored the parts in a box.

Alex completed his college. He stopped doing work on robots after that incident. Suddenly after 2 years, one day he opened a box full of robot parts with layers of dust on it. At the first view he was confused, but then he realized that it was the parts of robots that he made after that incident. He recalled that he dismantled its parts and kept them it in a box.

He opened it and remembered his mistake while making the robot. After some time, he again started to work on it with determination and focus. After 2 months of hard work, he made his robot perfect and named it ‘ULTRON’. At the time of the exhibition to the public, Alex and Ultron did a marvelous performance and after that. Alex also got numerous awards for his success in making Ultron. Alex dreams came true with his hard work, and he was cheerful.

An original tale, written by our student Kushagri Agarwal.

Kushagri is a student in Grade 7 studying at the prestigious Asian World School, Jaipur. We are proud to have her as a student of the Creative Writing Program through Applied Storytelling under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. Winners That Were Decided

A man with a height of about 187cm came running into the volleyball gym filled with students practicing completely drained, tired, and exhausted as if he ran 100 kilometers altogether, everyone in the gym started focusing on him. In between all of this, a boy about 190cm tall with an old fashion haircut confusingly asked, “What happened Coach Sam?”

While reviving his breath, Coach Sam said, “Hold Your Horses. We’ve Got an Invitation to play in the inter-high volleyball winter tournament. If we win this tournament, we are going to be a part of the national team.”

After listening to it the gym was filled with mixed feelings. Some were on cloud nine. Some were completely worked up and hyped. Some even started shouting like crazy and some were filled with overconfidence and pride.

“It is too early for you to celebrate or look down upon others. We are playing against descending tigers”, shouted one of the players.

A hint of silence and intensity crowded the room. Because everyone knew that they are going to play against one of the strongest teams in the world. They all started practicing hard.

As days passed by, they started training more arduously. Finally, the day was there. They were all on the court on which they are going to play the match facing the opponents. The first players to play were John a 192cm boy with rectangle-framed glasses playing as a side blocker. Keeho, a 180cm boy with blonde hair playing in the same position as John. Mattew, a 192cm boy with hair dyed in silver, and Leo with the same height and black hair playing as wing spiker. Han and Edward with a height of 108 cm played as spikers and setter respectively.

They all wore a jersey of orange and black color with the name of their school’s name “Dreams High” imprinted on the jersey.

The match then started with “Descending Tigers” taking the ball first and making it difficult for the team “Dreams High” with scoring the whole nine yards.  “Dreams High” was having a hard time and in no time descending Tigers won one set out of three.

It was a break now and “Dreams High” started planning calmly without panicking much and decided to play the game with full determination and energy.

Now the game resumed both teams have won one set each. The game becomes more intense as both teams keep on scoring now only one point was left the deciding the winner. Both teams played as if their life depended on it but because of the calm that team “Dreams High” was having among them made them the winners.

The court was filled with mixed emotions again some were happy and were shouting at the top of their lungs, and some were emotional and started crying on the scene. At last, both teams greeted. Han the leader of Dream High gives a victory speech.
