Being Together

Once on a summer evening in an emerald, green garden, the cold breeze made the flowers wave from side to side. The colorful marigolds and roses made the garden look like a giant rainbow. The sightseeing view of the flowers was awesome. The fragrance of the beautiful flowers like the roses and cosmos filled the air. Bees were sitting on flowers and kept drinking nectar. Many of the bees sat on the jasmine which had a great smell. The spider lilies were spreading everywhere.

After some time two kids named James and Tom came to the garden. James had a fair complexion, blonde hair, and a small nose. Tom had a sun-kissed complexion, black hair, and a small nose like James. James wore a black and white bandana on his face. He also wore white Bermuda shorts and white Hawaiian shirts. His sneakers were white too. Tom wore a baseball cap which was orange in color and a pair of blue sneakers. He wore black running shorts and a black T-shirt. James was brave, calm, and had a “never-give-up” attitude. Tom was a nervous and shy kid.

James and Tom were sitting on a small bench. James reminded Tom they could play football and win this time. They ran towards their football and told the other team, “Let’s play football’’. The other team agreed and started the match. Tom and James were determined that this time they would win.

All of them were playing football and didn’t notice the narrow but deep hole below them which was made because construction was going on. Suddenly James and Tom fell inside. Tom screamed, “Help me”. James shouted, “Stay calm and try to solve the problem.” Both of them were more terrified than ever before. They tried hard to find a solution fast.

Suddenly Tom found an old, dirty but working cell phone and asked James, “What is this rusted thing over here?”

James replied, “It is a cell phone, I think we can call someone to help us with this’’.

James called his parents and cried, “Me and Tom were playing football and we fell into a huge hole, can you help us?”

James mother calmed him down. She assured, “ I’ll inform Tom’s mother and come to help you.” She came with Tom’s mother and gave them a rope to climb up. Finally, they were out of the hole.

They were more grateful than ever before. They thought of going to another park and playing football there, so they called the other team and went to play in another park. At the other park, they were able to win and thought that it was the best day. After the incident, Tom and James realized if they would have been separated, then nobody would have been able to get out. Together, they easily found a way to get out.

Splashy Summers at Crestwood High I Student Sanvika Venkat I Online Creative Writing Program

An original story written by our online student Sanvika Venkat.

Sanvika is 9 years old young orator and writer from Noida. We are proud to have her as a student of the Online Creative Writing & Public Speaking Program using Applied Storytelling & Theatre tools under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. Splashy Summers at Crestwood High

It was a steaming hot day with extra daylight. The sun appeared as if it was planning to roast everyone up just like dumplings in a steamer. In the scorching solar conditions, the flowers were growing quite nicely and were giving a mesmerizing look to the landscape. Pink, orange, and yellow cape daisies were the only flowers blooming brightly. The vibrantly colored Lantana flowers gave a breathtaking sight to the blazing hot day.  They were puffy, pastel-colored Hydrangeas growing in a bushy shrub. The brilliant blue Pansies were very droopy as they grow better in cool weather.

Right next to the puffy, pastel-colored Hydrangeas was the massive building of Crestwood High where two teens named Ava Max and Taylor Allison Swift learned. Ava was an American girl who had straight long blonde hair and liked wearing jet black and tight-fitted t-shirts and ripped jeans. Taylor was an American girl as well had baby brown curly hair and liked to wear white t-shirts with black shorts. “I love to sing but this weather is killing me!’’ moaned Ava. “You took the words right out of my mouth!” exclaimed Taylor. “Hey want to play a game where we describe each other’s personality? Asked Ava. “Sure, I think you are ambitious” Taylor replied with full confidence. “I am pretty sure you are a very kind and generous person” replied Ava with a blast of energy. “But most importantly we are cool! Declared the two friends in unison.

Both the friends wanted to beat the heat because of the extreme conditions. Suddenly a brilliant idea struck Ava “You know we both are pretty good swimmers”. “So???” asked Taylor in utter confusion. Ava gave her a ‘you know what’ look. “Oh! I get it you’re saying we can swim the heat off!” announced Taylor with a knowing look. “Exactly now you are talking sense”. Said Ava delighted. “So, what are you waiting for let’s have some fun in the sun” screamed Taylor.

The two girls rushed home to grab their swimsuits when they realized their swimsuits didn’t fit them anymore! “Oh no” wailed Taylor “What will we do now?” “Oh, calm down Taylor we can’t handle anything until we are calm and not stressed or worried” scolded Ava. “Fine! Tell me this brilliant plan of yours” yelled Taylor disapprovingly. Though Taylor was simply trying to express that she was angry at the way her friend tried to take control of the situation. “Please just listen I have an idea” Ava requested. I guess I should give her a second chance thought Taylor. “Okay what’s the plan?” asked Taylor.

Ava revealed her brilliant plan to Taylor which included her credit card, the store Zara, and a bunch of gift cards. Quicker than a tiger the two teens sped to Zara and shopped for some swimming costumes which they got an extra discount on because of the gift card. Ava bought an aqua blue swimsuit with glitter and Taylor bought a plain pink swimsuit.

Now that they had their costumes they got a giant splash into the pool. They talked and splashed for what seemed like 1,00,00,000 years.
