These Moments

Happy moments are found hard,

How lucky I am for the eight days I had;
Seen the beauty in pictures,
Heard about it in geography lectures;
Didn’t think the day would come,
When I’d go sight-seeing and take pictures of my mum;
Heard good reviews about the Golden express,
I wouldn’t mind if it cost me a recess;
Breathtaking mountains, crystal clear lakes,
Charming villages with delicious chocolates and cakes;
The country is known for its chocolate and cheese,
Someone take me there again please;
What all I didn’t see there,
Why I came back home is unclear;
Wish I could stay a little longer,
Afraid it wouldn’t last forever;
Living every moment, remembering every sight,
I won’t forget that time for the rest of my life.

Best Friends

It was the peak time of the summer in the wondrous city of Mahabaleshwar. The sweet fragrance of fresh blossoms was enchanting everywhere. The leaves were rustling along with the dusty wind. The cattle galloped on the fields. The taste of vada pav darting into open mouths.

In that city lived two boys named Rohit and Rahul who were best friends. Rohit was from a wealthy family. He was handsome and intelligent. Rohit was 15 years old and studied in 10th grade. Rohit’s family owned the best hospital. His mother and father were doctors and the best doctors in curing patients. Rahul also came from an affluent background. He was intelligent, cultural, and good-looking, as well. Rahul studied in the same school in the same standard. Rahul’s family was contributing to Rohit’s family in the medical business.

Rahul and Rohit aimed to become the best duo in medication and escalate their family business to the skies. Rahul and Rohit sat together and concentrated on achieving their dream. They used to rock in their exams and were the highest scorers in every single subject. Rahul and Rohit studied hard in their school for their dream to come true. Rahul and Rohit always did everything based on their friendship motto which was ‘work collaboratively and achieve success’. After finishing their high school, they prepared for the medical college. They took their entrance exam and got into the college successfully.

One day, Rohit and Rahul were studying in their college; they were having a gala time in their college as it was the last day of the semester. Then they would go home during the semester break. After lunch, Rohit and Rahul went to study for their assigned subject in the designated location. After studying, they went to their rooms to relax when Rohit’s phone rang and his father hurriedly said, “Rohit, your grandmother, and Rahul’s mom are sick. When we detected the disease, it was a disease whose medicine is in Ujjain. We cannot travel to Ujjain as we are overloaded with work and the task of taking care of your sick grandma and Rahul’s mom. We have to send you to Ujjain along with Rahul. I will message you the name and according to your medical knowledge you have to get the medicine. Send a picture of the medicine before returning it to Mahabaleshwar. Please hurry up. They didn’t have much time to live”.

Rohit narrated the incident to Rahul and they both decided to combine to get this medicine. Rahul confidently assured Rohit, “Rohit we are the best duo and we will showcase that to our parents and this college. If we work collaboratively, we will achieve success. Let’s do this, my pal.”

Rohit and Rahul packed their bags and booked the next flight to Ujjain from Delhi. Rahul and Rohit reached Ujjain. They took a snack break and headed to the place where they would find the medicine for the disease. Rohit and Rahul booked the cab for the place as fast as they could. Rahul asked for Rohit’s phone and Rohit gave him. Rahul recognized the medicine through the window by Rohit’s dad’s message. Along with Rahul, Rohit recognized the cure for it. Rahul and Rohit leaped out of the car and darted to grab the medicine. They were triumphant in getting the medicine and his dad approved the medicine and also messaged that his grandmother and Rahul’s mom had only 7 hours to live. The airport was nearby and they had already booked the flight to Mahabaleshwar. Rahul and Rohit darted as the boarding had begun. They reached the boarding station on time and confirmed quickly that they had their suitcases and the precious medicine with them. After 2.5 hours, they arrived at Mahabaleshwar and gave their dads the medicine.

After taking the medicine, Rohit’s grandmother and Rahul’s mom looked as if nothing had ever happened to them. Their family named them the best duo and this was spread far and wide. And when they came back from semester break, their whole school appreciated them for their achievement. Rahul and Rohit succeeded further and became the best doctors. Their children now marvel at the great medical legacies and aim to do much better than their family.
