Yeti
It was a beautiful morning with charming sunshine and a clear lake in the heart of Himachal Pradesh. The wide range of snowy mountains and cold weather attracted tourists from different corners of the world. Amidst this, there was a beautiful village named Chitkul.
In this village lived a young man named Ramprasad with his old mother Laxmibhai. They were Guides, showing every tourist the Himalayas’ beauty and traditions. Ramprasad loved skiing in the snow and wanted to explore the snow deserts and roam around the village. However, his mother did not like it because she had heard rumours about large bear-like creatures that resembled humans.
One day, the village Sarpanch and elders hosted a meeting regarding the sighting of a large bear-like creature that was ruining their crops and eating their beloved domestic animals. Some in the meeting suggested choosing a sly and brave man to kill it while others recommended a group effort because many of these creatures needed more men. The meeting turned into a fight, with some choosing a single man and others favouring a group of men. The sarpanch stopped them all and said, “We will try both of your ideas, and the one that works will be the defence administration of the village.”
They selected the young man Ramprasad as the man who was sly and brave, and the elders trained him in archery, wrestling, hiding in the snow, climbing, sword fighting, and meditation. Finally, he had to pass a test by hunting the furious wild snow leopard and returning its head. He went on the trek and, after a few hours, he reached the deadly daring cave where the wild leopard lived. An intense battle took place, and he was highly injured but he managed to hunt it and also bring back his head.
Everyone in the village was very proud and made him their protector. He was injured so he rested for a couple of days. After he recovered then he finally started the great hunt for the blood-curdling massive bear-like creatures that became more powerful as time grew. They became more and more harmful as they were destroying their small-scaled huts which were their precious houses. Ramprasad had to get back to work as he had to kill those nasty creatures who ruined the whole village. Before embarking on his battle he received a shotgun from the villagers that can load up to 20 bullets.
He followed the monstrous footprints that led him to the base of the extraordinary creature called Yeti, a large bear-like creature. Ramprasad suddenly hid behind the rock and started shooting them one by one. He fought bravely and showed all his might and courage. He was wounded too but he continued his fight. Yetis started decreasing and after a while, they were all dead. Ramprasad returned to his village. He was honoured with the title “Brave Hero of Chitkul”. Ramprasad became one of the warriors in the history of Himachal Pradesh.
