  1. “Examination”- List Style Poetry

Examinations are the most boring part of the year,

Children are sad and do not cheer.

Examinations make every kid cry,

Though they always try.

Examination puts pressure on all the moms,

There is an almost explosion of a bomb.

Teachers like to open books,

Who teaches us with serious looks?

Some students cheat for good marks,

Though cheating is considered a bad task.

  1. “Bugs”- List Style Poetry

Bugs are creepy,

They are crawly,

They are green,

They are mean.

Bugs have light,

They can fight,

They fly at a Height,

They can bite.

  1. “Magic Wand”- Repetition Style Poetry

Wand, wand,

Where have you gone,

And for so long.

Wand, wand,

We have the strongest bond,

Nothing can break our bond.

Magic, magic,

Why is it so tragic,

Still, I like it.

  1. “Jasmine” – The Singer- ACROSTIC Poem

Jasmine was a beautiful girl,

And loved to sing,

Singing was her passion,

Michel Jackson was her benchmark,

Infected by the Bieber Fever,

Never in depression,

Energize the whole crowd with her passionate voice.

  1. “The Rap Boy”- Oxymoron Style Poetry

Hey, know my name,

Whatever, you’re so lame,

I’m almost complete,

So, listen to this beat,

While I almost start to eat,

You take a golden seat,

While I randomly order meat,

The dance floor will almost start to heat,

If we start to sing this sick beat.

  1. “My Favorite Foods”-Repetition Style Poetry

 Ice cream, Ice cream,

Why are you sweet,

Sticky and my favorite treat.

Rice, Rice,

Why are you nice,

You are loved by mice.

Dal Makhani, Dal Makhani,

Why are you so creamy,

Healthy and tasty.

Noodles, Noodles,

You are so stringy,

I dislike when we are apart.

Spring roll, Spring roll,

You are always in a row,

Full of surprises in your bow

  1. “Seasons” – List Style Poetry

Spring is the king of seasons,

It is a time to play,

It is the time to be gay,

Beautiful flowers all around,

While the world is round.

Summer is the time for beaches,

It is time to go hit the pool,

So, we can feel cool,

Water is needed to protect us from heat,

It is a time to relax and take a seat.

With the monsoon clouds around,

Rain is pouring nonstop,

Children go drenched,

While peacocks dance,

The sun is to be out, it’s a chance.

Winter is the coldest part of the year,

We all cheer ,

All that we hear,

Kids playing outside in the dry pool,

Which makes me drool,

Which is the best?

I can’t choose,

This decision will make me lose.

  1. “Cream”-List Style Poetry

Ice Cream, Ice Cream,

Why are you so sweet,

Gooey and my favorite treat

You are a must in summer,

Causing us to feel cooler,

You are being sold at every corner

You cause me to drool,

I always rule,

You give me fuel

Ice Cream, Ice Cream,

You are in a cone, In a bowl,

As long as you are my own.

  1. Corona Virus”-Repetition Style Poetry

Covid, Covid,

You are known by everyone,

You are the talk of the town,

You are renowned and known.

Covid, Covid,

You have ruined my life,

You are like a knife,

To kill almost everyone.

Covid, Covid,

You have been,

A curse and a blessing,

To my family.

Covid., Covid,

You have taught us to stick together,

No matter what, spend a lot of time together,

We can now live with limited resources.

Stay home, stay safe, and hope for the best.

  1. The Color Blue”- List Style Poetry

The sky is blue,

The water is blue,

My walls are blue,

Everything around me is blue, blue, blue

I wonder if blue disappears,

What will I do,

It would be sad for me,

I will cry like wee, wee, wee.

I love blue and so do you,

It is beautiful for me and you,

There are many shades of blue,

My favorite is the sky blue.

  1. “Triumph of Friendship”- List Stye Poetry

If you want to make a cake,

I’ll help you out,

If you get burned,

I’ll bandage your arm,

If you are in any trouble,

I’ll save you from that with a cuddle,

If you are broken,

I’ll cure you with a token.

If you are hurt,

I’ll clean your tears with my shirt,

If you’re sick and there is no one to take care of you,

You can always count on me to help.

We share our darkest secrets,

Without any shame,

Mix giggles and laughter,

In the mix of plaster.

Do silly things,

All night long,

Relax and get along,

That’s where we belong.

  1. “The Phone Lady”- Q & A Style Poetry

When we talk on the phone,

And the other person puts it on hold,

Which lady keeps repeating that someone’s on hold?

When we try to call someone,

But they are out of network,

Which lady tells us that someone is out of network?

When we call someone,

And they reject the call,

Which lady tells us that someone is busy?

Does she get a break?

When she learned all her lines,

How can she speak so many languages?

Does she eat?

Does she sleep?

Does she only keep helping me through calls all day long?

  1. “The Market”- List Style Poetry

 In the market,

You can get fish, spice,

Which is loved by mice,

There is a pile of lice,

In the pile of rice.

The cat is aiming at the fish,

Where it is lying dead in the dish,

It’s the cat’s wish to catch the fish,

The woman is cutting the fish,

For the cat on the dish.

There are spices on the woman’s head,

Which were lying all day on the bed,

So, her husband and children said,

You have to go sell these or go to hell,

She said that ‘I have something to tell,

She said that ‘I have rung the bell’.

Lunar Cycle – The Many Moods Of The Moon | Student Seyon V Narendra | Little Writers Program

By admin in Environment Poetry, Poetry, Solar System on March 2, 2022

An Original Free Style Poem written by our student Seyon V Narendra.

Seyon is 8 years old from Saudi Arabia. We are proud to have him as a student of Little Writers Program, an Online Creative Writing Program using Applied Storytelling & Theatre tools under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. We congratulate Seyon for this exemplary true self-expression.

Lunar Cycle – The Many Moods Of The Moon

There I was, in the dunes in the dark,

Looking at a ball of milk, rising in the sky.

From valleys to mountains between rocks and sand,

She shrank as she rose, with a glitter that never froze.

She was white as milk, and had dots like bubbles,

She likes to go around the earth every 28th day,

And plays a hide and seek game.
