Yudhishthira was the king of Indraprastha,

He conducted an Ashvamedha yagna,

He invited his brother Duryodhana,

Who was jealous of the Pandavas.

After Yudhishthira’s yajna,

Duryodhana did not wish to leave Indraprastha,

He was astonished by the beautiful illusions,

He wished to enter a door but was fooled by the hallucination.

He hit his head because it wasn’t a door,

Further inside he tried entering a pool but was tricked,

Because it was glass and Duryodhana was being swindled,

In the corner, the Pandavas were taking pleasure.

Later he fell into the pool which looked like glass really thin,

While Draupadi mocked him,

He took envy of the Pandavas,

And complained to his uncle about him being emulous.

While Shakuni, his uncle spoke,

You can’t take it by force,

And cooked up a scheme device,

The revengeful and painful Game of Dice.

   5. Karaoke – Onomatopoeia Style Poetry

“Karaoke”

Everyone sang karaoke,

Someone sang “Those lazy-hazy-crazy-days of summer”

But, the other one uttered “I recall central park in fall”

Some carolled “Rock Around the Clock”

But, the other quavered “Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam”

Some warbled “Say hey, good looking’. Whatcha got cooking’?”

I listened to all,

But when my chance came,

I had nothing to say out load.

But the Elephant goes,

Ooon, Ooon.

The pig goes,

Oink, oink.

But the ball goes,

Boink, Boink.

The trees go,

Wisha-Wisha-Wisha.

But children go,

I wish for a, I wish for a.

This was a tale of Nature,

By the way, what is yours?

7. The Teen Sisters- Free Verse Style Poetry

“The Teen Sisters”

Raina’s talent was shown from the curtains behind

Yet her work was one of a kind.

“Drama”, the new play that she worked on

As she reached home,

She ran to grab her sister, Catrina.

The sisters bond was strong.

Catrina wanted some adventures.

As they head to the forest,

In their path lay the “The Lost Temple”,

They had no guts to walk inside,

They entered the temple,

Putting their fears aside.

Ghosts acting as shadows followed their trail.

Feeling danger, the sister’s faces turned pale.

As the sisters ran.

A ghost stopped them to befriend them, and not to attack.

Inside they met the folks of the faraway tree,

But the sisters did not flee.

Remembering the adventure, they walked back home.

With memories like honey made by the honeybee.

   10. The Unlucky Day -Quatrain Style Poetry

“The Unlucky Day”

As I sat in the park,

From the castle behind,

A sonorous and pure voice as mellow as it could ever be,

Sang the most beautiful words touching a person’s core.

When I turned around, “Clack”,

A cyclist bumped into a pole as if he was attacked.

As he yelped, I could feel the horrible pain,

His head was as blue as a running vain.

I ran to help him and a car “swooshed” in front of me,

Thought my last moments were here, giving me flashbacks that were fizzy.

I think I hurt my nose,

Turning as red as a set of red Christmas hose.

I bend down to tie my shoelace,

Suddenly a fare opened up out of no place.

I sprinted straight forward and bumped into the set-up.

I guess it is my unlucky day as everything collapsed backwards.

   11. “There are Songs” – Free Verse Style Poetry

“There are Songs”

There are songs in my mind,

Because,

There are songs in my mind.

   12. “What is on my Mind?” – Question and Answer Style Poetry

“What is on my mind?”
If I were an Artist, On my mind
There would be Creativity,
There would be inspiration,
There would be colours,
There would be beauty
There would be nature
There would be a warm heart
There would be a dedicated soul
There would be puzzles of sunset
There would be so much more
But at the end of the day
“There would be only me”
