The Lesson Jake Got

It was not long ago when Jake, a 13 year old boy, used to bully people. “AAAAHHHH!!” a kid screams. While Jake “HAHAHA!” just laughs. Jennie, Jake’s older sister, asked him several times to not bully others but Jake, Jake would never listen to her.  Now you must be wondering why I said not long ago. Well, let’s go into a flashback.

Ooooo! I see a new target approaching me, thinks Jake, as he sees the new girl Lisa walking towards him.  “Hi! Could you help me get to room 354?” Lisa asks Jake. “Hello”, Lisa waves her hand in front of Jake as he was too busy thinking on how to bully his new target. “Oh sorry, yeah sure”, Says Jake coming back to reality. After walking some time they reach the room. Lisa thanks Jake and goes into her class. As Jake’s building a plan to bully Lisa his friend approaches him “Jake!! Ma’am is looking for you. Come on let’s go! “

At sports time, Jake sees Lisa walking towards the cricket nets. Ooooo! Is she also in cricket? Yea baby! It’s gonna be super easy to bully her now” this is how Jake normally thinks. In the evening when Lisa was walking out of the school, Jake grabs her bag and pulls her hair. “AAAAAHHHHH! OOWWWW!” Lisa screams in pain, while Jake does what he usually does, laughs and walks away. This continues for sometime, so Lisa asks Jennie to help her out. Jennie and Lisa had become very close friends since the time Lisa joined. Later that evening when the both of them were walking, Jake comes again to do his usual routine when he sees Jennie with Lisa. “Oh no!! Now if I go to bully Lisa Jennie will give me a whole lecture when we get home.” Jake plans on not bullying Lisa that day and just walks away in disappointment. Jake sees Lisa and Jennie together every time he’s going to bully Lisa. He could not tolerate it anymore and approaches Lisa and pulls her hair. “AAAGGHHH”, screams Lisa while Jake runs away quickly before Jennie sees him, but unfortunately Jennie saw him.

Later when at home, Jennie goes to Jake who was sitting on the couch and asks him very politely ”Why do you bully others?” jake was pretty surprised by the way Jennie talked to him. “A-are you ok?” asks Jake considerately, “you have never been so polite towards me. Like EVER”. “Ha-ha!” Jennie laughs. “I am perfectly fine. Now answer my question, why do you bully others?” Jake tells his side of the story, when he was bullied by other kids older to him. They made him think he was weak which made Jake insecure about himself. Until, one day he thought of bullying kids younger to him so that he could prove others that he was not weak.

Jennie heard his story, understood it, and felt pity towards him.  “You should have told this to me before, I could have helped you. Bullying is not the solution to prove that you are strong, it just makes people think that you are a bad person. Which I know you’re not. That way you’ll never find true friends.” Jake thought about what Jennie said over the night. The next day he went and apologized to everyone he had ever bullied including Lisa. Everyone was shocked but they forgave him. He thanked them for being so kind towards him.

“See! Everybody now loves you. That’s why you should never bully anyone. Got it now?” Jennie asks in a playful manner “Mhm” Jake nods his head.

Best Friends Forever

A long time ago in Dehradun, there was a jungle named Ramnagar. There used to live a monkey named Kairab. He was funny, friendly, kind and very mischievous.  One day, he was sitting on a Mango tree. He was eating a mango which was very sweet and ripe.  Besides him, there was a river. The colourful fishes in the river were playing jumping around.

The sun was bright and shining. He was having a lovely day but there was nobody to play with him. He was jumping here and there. After eating mangos, he started to get bored. He wanted to make friends but nobody played with him in his jungle. He was very naughty and every animal in the jungle was annoyed with him. He got an amazing idea.

He thought that he can go to city zoo and make new friends. The city zoo was very far. He had a map of zoo. He snatched the map from the tourist who came to jungle on safari. He made a map in his mind. He had to go north from the river and then turn east. He had to climb many trees. He was hurt with thorns. While travelling heavy fruits fell on his head. He also fell down but his determination to make new friends was very high.

Finally, he reached   in the zoo. He felt that he had achieved everything and there was a feeling of great relief. He was too excited. On the gate he saw a human checking the tickets of visitors. Still, he had to go ahead. He had to make friends. He thought that no matter what happens he will go inside. He went inside by climbing tree. He saw some cages. On the side of the cages, there was a board with animal`s name.

He approached to tiger`s cage and went inside. In jungle he was afraid of tiger but he wanted to see tiger as a prisoner. The moment he saw tiger, he felt pity for him. He wanted to make him free. He wanted to play with tiger and flaunt his new friend to another animal’s. He made a plan but the plan was not easy. The manager of the zoo could catch him as well. He waited till 6 pm, the time of closing of zoo. He hid himself at the top of the tree, near the den of the tiger. He waited for everybody to go back to their home. When there was complete darkness then he came out quietly.  The neighbouring animals started shouting, especially zebra and dolphin. He went to their cages and made everyone aware of his plans.

He slowly went to the guard’s room, where he was eating his dinner very slowly maybe because he was watching TV. The monkey was crying with hunger, but he was determined to make the tiger free. He waited till the guard slept. He slowly crawled and went near him and took the keys of the lock of tiger’s cage. He ran there and opened the tiger’s gate. The tiger came out, he was standing in front of monkey, he was roaring and the monkey was getting afraid. The tiger came closer and he was very hungry. Kairab couldn`t speak out of fear but tiger gave him thankful look.
