A Hungry Fox

Long, long ago, there was a deep, dark and dense forest. Inside that deep forest, there were high mountains. Under one such mountain, there was a bunch of thick, tall, and humongous trees with a large crown of leaves and branches. It looked scary because strange sounds were heard. There was a small cave next to the trees.

Inside the cave, there was a hungry fox. He was dangerous. The fox was orange and brown. It had a long tail like a stick. It had sharp teeth like a lion or a tiger.

The hungry fox wanted to eat different types of animals, which were herbivorous like donkeys, zebras, and giraffes. He had a strong craving for such animals.

The fox left his cave and ran to find such animals. It ran to different habitats that had herbivorous animals. The hungry fox searched everywhere in the deep forest for its prey. He didn’t find anything in the deep forest. The fox went back to his cave, disappointed.

Suddenly, he spotted a donkey behind the trees. The donkey was eating grass. The donkey was grey and light blue. The eyes of the donkey were brown.

The fox attacked on the donkey slowly while tip toeing. He held the donkey tightly. He relished his food. The fox satisfied his hunger. He slept and started snoring, zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

The Flowerpot I Student Bhadra Bansal I Creative Writing Program-Jaipur

This is an original story written by our student Bhadra Bansal. Bhadra, is a young orator and writer from Jaipur. We are proud to have him as a student in the Creative Writing & Public Speaking Program, using Applied Storytelling & Theatre tools under the mentorship of Trainer Khusshbo Chokhaani. The Flowerpot

Once there was a huge garden. In one corner of the garden, there was a flowerpot. The flowerpot was orange and black. It was kept near a huge and tall tree. The size of the flowerpot was approximately 5 inches.

In that flowerpot lived a flower. The name of the flower was Hibiscus. The flower looked reddish. The flower petals were soft to touch. A tube was coming out from the petals. The pollen was coming out from the petals.

The flower wanted to get some large-sized leaves of green colour. It would make food with them. It would serve the other parts of the plant. The plant would get healthy.  The plant would bloom under the sun with nutritious food.

He got an idea. He thought of a place where more sunlight was coming. He did that. His root shoot would go downwards, and the stem shoot would go upwards.

Suddenly, he heard the strong sound of the drip-drop of the rainwater. It was a rainy day. Loud thunderstorms were coming from the clouds. His efforts were halted. There were muddy puddles filled with water.  There was no sign of sunlight. He was exhausted from the rainwater, and he slept. Then he woke up early the next morning.

In the morning, it was sunny. It was the brightest and warmest sun. All the water dried up. Grass and trees were happy with rainwater. Everything was fresh and green. All trees, birds, and flowers were swaying, chirping, and blooming. The flowerpot with all its might shifted to that part of the garden where direct sunlight was falling. Hibiscus’s root shoot bent downward, and his stem shoot went upward. He blossomed under the sunlight. Probably the rainwater was a gift from Mother Nature. Mother Nature must have heard his wish.

He received more sunlight as the day progressed. The Hibiscus plant started growing and its roots were getting stronger and stronger sending enough water to the stem. The stem started giving water to other parts also. The flowers bloomed and it had leaves. He was having fun. He was happy when his leaves and flowers bloomed. He enjoyed the whole process of  getting drenched in rain and drying up in sunlight.
